Eileen Anderson is both a visual artist and a Licensed Psychiatric Technician and Behavioral Specialist.. She studied art at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California.
Eileen refers to herself as a self-taught artist who has learned from life. Her 35 years of working with women with disabilities have led her to focus on spiritual and gender issues in her surreal paintings, photographs, and assemblages. She has exhibited her work in various Southern California galleries and art centers. She has won many first-place titles in juried exhibitions throughout Orange County.
Eileen has also been active in the Orange County art community since 1995. She first volunteered as a docent at The Newport Harbor Art Museum, where she worked for four years. In 1999, she became a member of Orange County Center for Contemporary Art (OCCCA) in the Santa Ana Artists Village. She was active as Treasurer and then as the Supervisor for the After School Art Program and the Santa Ana Community Outreach Program until 2001.
Anderson has been a past member of the Huntington Beach Art League and Mendocino Art Center in Northern California. Her current memberships include the 2nd City Council Art Gallery in Long Beach and Southern California Artists, where she served as Vice-President and Exhibition Coordinator from 2001 to 2003 and President in 2004, 2005 and 2007.
Eileen is also a member of SCWCA, Southern California Womens Caucus for Art. A National organization, in Los Angeles. Eileen continues to be active in Fundraisers and Charity-Events, especially concerning children and schools in California. |
