Ms. Rovillos has succeeded in the publishing industry as a visual artist. With more than fifteen years in this profession, her career included working for companies such as the Quad-City Times, California Community News and over five years as a Senior Artist with the Los Angeles Times. Ms. Rovillos also earned a bachelor’s degree in Studio Arts and continues to explore all facets of art and publishing.
Her most recent work shows an influence of Expressionism. The subject matter tends to be emotional and rooted in deeper subconscious angst. She draws inspiration first, from the palette selected, then from thirty-eight years of memories. Ms. Rovillos displays a patience with medium and technique which allows for a consistent development of tones and especially, a consistent presentation of mood.
