| Linda Wright |
Linda Wright draws and paints subjects close to her personal and emotional life, including still lifes, room interiors and portraits. She looks for the beauty in nature and her environment, where shape, color and light communicate feeling as well as make a composition. She chooses to make small and intimate works that draw in the viewer to experience the richness and timelessness of a moment. Her media are pastel drawing, watercolors, and prints.
Linda was born in Chicago, Illinois, but moved at an early age to Los Angeles where she grew up. She began her interest in art during college, graduating in 1973 from California State University Los Angeles, with a BA in History and a minor in Art History. She has actively made art and continued classes in art at community colleges since 1982. After raising two children and retiring from a working career at Santa Ana College in 2003, she is now enrolled full time at Santa Ana College and Golden West College. She has been a member of Southern California Artists since 1992 and participated in some of their exhibitions held at the Guggenheim Gallery at Chapman University. In 2004 she also became a member of Studio 250.
