I began art classes in 1967 with the late artist June Smith. In 1977, I studied art at Orange Coast College and continued until 1986, taking many courses from Art Instructor, Donna Sharkey.. After taking many classes in handmade paper, I began working in handmade paper and mixed media, creating elephants and hearts. I paint the paper and sew beads and other items on my pieces.
This statement about elephants is inspiring to me:
"Elephants are the sustainers of the universe and are symbolic of cosmic splendor."
My goal is to create art that brings a positive experience to the viewer. Creating art has been, and continues to be, a healing, fulfilling and enriching experience
