OPPORTUNITIES

ArtWalk ’13 is now accepting applications through March 24th, 2013. ArtWalk ’13 is a juried fine arts and designer crafts outdoor exhibition, presented by the Conejo Valley Art Museum. ArtWalk ‘13 will be presented in Thousand Oaks, CA on June 1 and 2, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Now celebrating its 26th successful year, ArtWalk ’13 will feature over 150 artists, complimented by musicians, children’s hands-on art, and food concessions. It is an event to be enjoyed by the entire family and admission is free to the public! Artists, food concessionaires, musicians or volunteers may contact the Conejo Valley Art Museum at 805-492-8778. Artists’ applications and information may be downloaded from the Museum’s website: www.cvam.us

Southern California Artists is a non-profit organization that provides a forum for all artists working in southern California.

The association functions to support artists with dialogue, education and interaction at all stages of the creative process - from inspiration to exhibition. There is no favored media and it is open to all creative pursuit addressing what it means to make art and how to share it with the community.

Janice DeLoof, longtime SCA member, passed away Wednesday night, March 20th, after complications from lung cancer surgery. She will be missed by the arts community and all who knew her.

SCA is presenting a $200 gift to NAMI Orange County Memorial Fund in memory of Janice DeLoof.

Desiree Engel will be in a group show at Gallery 57 this fall.

Ron Reekers will be part of a Spring Festival at the Shipley Nature Center near the Huntington Beach Library on April 27th. For Info see: shipleynature.org

Thom Wright has been included in the "Centered on the Center" Exhibit currently running at the Huntington Beach Art Center

Janet Adams will be having a show at the Environmental Nature Center, Newport Beach. Also Janet has been asked to participate as workshop leader for STIGMA – an event organized by Janice DeLoof. Janet will exhibit at OCCCA this summer for the STIGMA show.

"Imagination Celebration" sponsored by ARTS OC has asked SCA to participate in the annual fair offering creative experiences to children and families. The date is Sunday, April 28th from 10 to 3pm at Birch Park in Santa Ana. Contact Janet jartms@att.net for volunteer information.

Our Exhibition Coordinator, Karen Feuer-Schwager, has secured September - November at the Wells Fargo CAP Gallery for our annual member's show.

The SCA Artists Book is presented at all SCA community events. It contains one current photo of each artist’s work, and the title, size, media, and year completed. Please send a jpeg image jartms@att.net.

Coastline Gallery has invited us to have a booth at their annual Christmas Gift Sale in December 2013. We are told that the exhibit space may be greatly enlarged at their beautiful new building in Newport Beach.

"Orchis Coriophora" M1 was selected to be included in the Mosaic Arts International 2013 exhibition at The Museum Of Glass in Tacoma, WA.

The exhibition runs January 26 to May 5, 2013. Carole is very happy to be chosen from more then 300 entries from artists from 12 different countries. Only 46 pieces were accepted for the show.

Sunday April 28th is Dia del Niños in Birch Park Santa Ana. SCA will again be hosting two art projects for the children who come - last year we had 100's of kids and families!!

The hours are 11 am to 4pm. Members are invited to come out and share a few hours of their art expertise with the niños! Janet Adams has all the supplies.

Roger Gordon has some abstract pieces on exhibit at the Bistango Gallery in Irvine from February 25th through June.

Also, Ai (Art Institute) at Sunflower and Harbor in Costa Mesa is hosting a reception to showcase his work on May 3rd.
